Over the next 40 plus years, Pine Summit expanded and developed its property and mission, becoming one of the premier camps in the Southern California area.
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
The mission of Pine Summit Christian Camp is to provide a life changing experience, where people connect with God and each other through excellent hospitality and outdoor fun!

As a staff, we strive to set the table for God to work by delivering excellent hospitality and situational outdoor fun through specific things like delicious all-you-can-eat buffets, clean comfortable lodging, and over 40 outdoor recreational options to choose from.
Once the table is set, our prayer for you is that you will be stretched physically and spiritually as you come face to face with Jesus Christ, and that you allow Him to take control of your life.

At 7,000 feet and on more than 40 acres, ALPS is located at The Salvation Army’s Pine Summit in Big Bear Lake, California.
A place known for its resort style amenities, Big Bear Lake is also rich with pine and oak forests flourishing in an alpine environment.
From the moment of inception, each of these ministries individually established themselves in order to first help people disconnect from the craziness of life, and then help them reconnect (or connect) with the saving power of Jesus Christ.
Since people experience fun in so many different ways, we intentionally created many versions and variations for experiential fun to happen. We believe that fun serves a very specific function in our mission of a life changing experience, and that fun in and of itself, is a great way to get everyone involved and laughing together.
Beginning with our NEW mission statement and not ending until you leave, you will experience in both word and deed that “excellent hospitality” is something we not only care about, but is also woven into the very fabric of who we are and where we came from.
We completely understand that you are most likely not a full time camp planner. That’s why we developed a super simple all inclusive flat rate design that simplifies everything into one price based on your lodging preference and number of nights you stay with us. All your meals, snacks, meeting space, and over 40 recreation options are included!
We have several different meeting rooms that accommodate groups up to 500 people. The size of your group will determine which meeting room you are assigned. As part of your package, we have a full Audio /Visual Department ready and able to provide you with basic sound equipment, projector and screen, white boards, and more at no additional charge.
